One of the things that we love about our beautiful remote island setting here at Fota Island Resort is that guests staying at our Cork Hotel or within our self catering lodges can should they please too take a walk through our wonderful setting or enjoy a leisure stroll between holes as they play a round of golf on our championship golf course. In fact guests can choose any of the 4 dedicated walking routes of varying length that meander all over the island – see our below walking map.
Walking is becoming ever popular as a social, fun and enjoyable way to stay active and next month its Cork Walking Month, when there will be a variety of events to suit all ages taking place from 1st – 30th September, providing opportunities for the people of Cork to get out and walk and keep active on one of the 54 planned walks or events.
Ideal for all fitness levels, there will be an opening event for Cork Walking Month that will take place within the Cork Institute of Technology, and will see 2 guided walks led by organisers and special guests leaving the CIT grounds, going around the Bishopstown area before returning to the Nexus Student Centre, where there will be refreshments. Registration takes place from 10:30 and walks start at 11:00 and this event will give the opportunity for participants to meet our special guest and access walking and event information.
