The summer may be coming to a close but there’s busy schedule for golfers ahead at Fota Island Golf Club in Cork with the Intermediate Scratch Cup and Inter-Company Autumn Challenge due to take place over the coming months.

The Intermediate Scratch Cup takes place on Sunday, 24th August, with an entry fee of €40 per golfer. The competition be hosted on the newly extended Deerpark Course championship golf course which recently played host to the 2014 Irish Open. Golfers from across Cork and the Munster region are sure to be keen to test themselves on this fantastic parkland course and follow in the footsteps of Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Paul Casey and, of course, Mikko Ilonen from Finland who clinched the title.

Over the coming weeks, Fota Island Resort will be hosting its first Inter-Company Autumn Challenge which gives participants the opportunity to win a golf society outing plus dinner for 20 people.

Companies from across Munster are invited to enter a team of eight golfers at a cost of just €40 per golfer to play on any day of their choice (Sunday to Friday inclusive). The top 5 Stableford scores will count and the top four teams will be invited to play in the final on Friday October 24th.

The competition runs continuously at our 5 Star hotel with golf course until Friday, 17th October, after which the final will take place on Friday, 24th October. For those wishing to take part, it should be noted that GUI and ILGU handicaps apply and all team members must be part of the same company to enter.

Each team is welcome to play on any available date between now and October 17th and team members are also welcome to play within smaller groups in their team of 8*.
