2022 Highlights At Fota Island Resort

We have had a busy start to the year here at Fota Island Resort.

Here are just a few of our recent highlights:

Gold Medal Awards 2021/2022

• Our lovely spa team scooped the Bronze Award for “Ireland’s 5-Star Hotel Spa Experience” at this year’s Gold Medal Awards / Hotel and Catering Review
• Our super talented chef Maris Urbanovics won a Gold Award for “Ireland’s Chef of the Year” for The Cove Restaurant.

New Outdoor Sauna

 

Our new outdoor spa opened as part of our luxury spa experience. Surrounded by trees and plants, our outdoor sauna provides an opportunity for our visitors to reconnect with nature and unwind after a long week.

Fota Employee of the Year Awards

Our Employee Of The Year awards took place this April, recognising excellence across all areas of our hotel. We would like to congratulate all nominees and winners of these awards. A special mention to:

• John Hartnett, Employee of the Year
• Elaine O’Gorman, Outstanding Contribution
• Jose Pereira, Outstanding Customer Service

Mega Fun Bootcamp

In aid of the Ukraine Crisis, a fun bootcamp was held on the Fota Island Pitches beside the Recreational Building on the 6^th April.  A wonderful evening of fun, fitness, and laughs was had!

Concierge John Coleman received his Les Clefs d’Or Golden Keys

Our esteemed Concierge Manager, John Coleman became the 43^rd Irish member of the highly-regarded Les Clefs d’Or, a global professional concierge association. Represented by a golden crossed key pin on their lapels, members must demonstrate exceptional knowledge, be highly skilled, and able to assist guests in anything from dinner reservations to recommending local attractions.

Dairy Chef Competition

Continuing our winning streak for our fantastic chefs, our Chef De Partie Bruno Nascimentio won First Prize at the Dairy Chef competition held in GMIT.

The Cove Restaurant featured in Lucinda O Sullivan Creme de la crème

Finally, we were thrilled to see our restaurant The Cove feature in Lucinda O Sullivan’s Crème de la crème list of top restaurants in Ireland.

All in all, an eventful and exciting start to the year here at Fota Island Resort. We look forward to continuing our success in providing a five-star experience for all of our guests in 2022.
