The 4th annual First Cut! Youth Film Festival will take place, this October in neighbouring Cobh, which ironically has been without a cinema for nearly thirty years!
A flamboyant festival set to support the next generation of local, national and even international film makers, the film festival will showcase an array of short films that are no longer than 15 minutes in the fantastic Cinemobile, Ireland’s 100 seat state of the art mobilecinema.
Happening on the 6th and 7th October in beautiful Cobh, just minutes from us at Fota Island Resort Hotel in Cork, the First Cut! Youth Film Festival will include workshops, performances, opportunity for young filmmakers to meet professional filmmakers, panel discussions and the all important film screenings of the best work by young Irish filmmakers and young international filmmakers.
There is no entry fee for submitting films, and films of any genre are allowed but all films must be shorter than 15 minutes in length and filmmakers must be under the age of 21. Films must be submitted on standard DVD to First Cut! Youth Film Festival, c/o Cork Film Centre, Civic Trust House, 50 Pope’s Quay, Cork, Ireland before 14th September 2012.
