The iconic East Cork location of Ballymaloe will be a foodie heaven between the 15th and 17th May as the Kerrygold Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine takes centre stage. The festival is take place at the nearby Ballymaloe House & Ballymaloe Cookery School in Shanagarry, County Cork; just a short distance from the 5 Star Fota Island Hotel.
What makes this festival so unique is that it will be the first of its kind in Ireland specifically dedicated to the celebration of food and wine. The festival made its début back in 2013 and welcomed as many as 8000 visitors onto the grounds of Ballymaloe House and Cookery School. Many of the visitors included both national and international food authors, chefs, foragers, educators, wine experts, gardeners, publishers, TV presenters, food bloggers and journalists.
It is a weekend filled with fascinating facts, inspirational stories, intriguing discussions, incredible knowledge, fantastic music, fabulous dancing and of course, delicious food and drinks.
It is the only festival of its kind in Ireland and has created an important hub for food enthusiasts worldwide to meet and share ideas with each other.
