Fota Island Challenge Series returns on the 11th June when participants will undertake either a 5k or 10k run through a forest trail throughout the grounds of one of the leading five star resort in Ireland and the surrounding area. The inaugural Fota Island Challenge Series Sprint Duathlon proved to be a huge hit with both hardened athletes and those seeking to improve their fitness, and so the second event has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 11th June.
This next Challenge Series event is a forest trail run, a 5k trail run through wooded areas around the Golf Resort in Cork, and an event that participants can run, jog or walk. With a fee of €10, the race begins at 7.30 p.m. sharp, and competitors need to arrive at registration with a completed registration form. Registration forms will be available to download from the website soon while registration is also open from 5.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the day of the race. With between 300 to 500 competitors expected to arrive at Fota Island Hotel near Cork, this will be certainly be an exhilarating event for all participants.
For the more serious trail runners, there is also the additional opportunity to participate in a 10k trail run which takes place in the grounds of our Golf Resort in Ireland at exactly the same time on the 11th June, Entry in the 10k trail run will cost with a €15 and should be submitted with a completed registration form. Prizes for first, second and third fastest runners for both runs, 5k and 10k, will be presented later in the day in the iconic luxury hotel in Cork – Fota Island Hotel. With plenty of parking available adjacent to our 5 Star Cork hotel participants can analyse their performances while enjoying a coffee or maybe even Fota Island’s renowned Afternoon Tea, then again you may wish to indulge in one of the award winning spa treatments afterwards, this second Fota Island Challenge Series 5K and 10K Forest Trail Run on June 11th is definitely a date to pencil in to your sporting calendar!
