Fota Island Challenge Series returns on the the 11th June when participants will undertake either a 5k or 10k run through a forest trail throughout the grounds of one of the leading five star resorts in Ireland and the surrounding area.
The inaugural Fota Island Challenge Series Sprint Duathlon proved to be a huge hit with both hardened athletes and those seeking to improve their fitness, and so the second event has been scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 11th June.
This next Challenge Series event is a forest trail run, a 5k trail run through wooded areas around the Golf Resort in Cork, and an event that participants can run, jog or walk. With a fee of €10, the race begins at 7.30 p.m. sharp, and competitors need to arrive at registration with a completed registration form. Registration will be open from 5.15 to 7 p.m. on the day.
With as many as 500 competitors expected, this will be a fun Cork event for those taking part. For those who take their trail running even more seriously, there is also the opportunity to take part in a 10k version of the trail on the same day, at the same time, with a €15 fee – again, the completed registration form is required. Prizes for first, second and third fastest runners for both 5k and 10k runs.
With plenty of parking available adjacent to our 5-Star Cork Hotel, along with the analysis of your performance over teas and coffees to enjoy afterwards, this second Fota Island Challenge Series 5K and 10K Forest Trail Run on the 11th June is yet another great event to pencil in to your sporting calendar!
