On Sunday 24th February the highly anticipated 2013 Wedding Showcase took place at the Fota Island Resort.
Greeted by a red carpet welcome, a concierge in top hat and tails and with a harpist playing in the foyer, we welcomed over 160 brides and their supportive spouse, parent or friend to our exquisite wedding venue in Cork, which had been dressed and decorated for a luxury wedding.
As guests made their way through of fantastic facilities and talked to the 52 wedding suppliers, they were treated to free pizza, ice cream and choice food samples, as well as samples our very own pastry chef truly scrumptious Rachid’s chocolates.
Waiting to transport guests from our Luxury Cork hotel to our fantastic golf clubhouse, which offers a uniquely different setting for intimate weddings was a collection of wonderful vintage and classic cars, all decorated with ribbons and each with its dressed to impress chauffer, and once inside our Cork Golf Club House, guests were treated to a complimentary tea or coffee and a homemade cake.
Making a surprise appearance was the newly elected Miss Cork, who had only been awarded the titles the night before and a selection of models from Pulse Models, who were dressed in some of the supplier’s amazing collections.
A fantastic day all round, everyone involved, whether guest, supplier or staff thoroughly enjoyed themselves and for us here at Fota Island Resort it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet so many blushing brides-to-be.
