This is starting to be the end of my Irish adventure. I find it hard to believe it’s been three months since I first came to Ireland. After my arrival I spent my first weeks in a language course with almost 30 other interns. In the beginning we were just a bunch of strangers in a foreign country hoping to gain work experience and improve our language skills. I quickly realised that this is an experience that would give me so much more than just that. It’s strange how sometimes we come across people that we connect with right away and almost get the feeling that you would’ve known them all your life. So of course we were all kind of sad when we were placed to do our internships in different cities. My friend said we were experiencing a Big Brother effect, crying after few weeks of knowing each other.
I’ve met some of the craziest, funniest and most amazing people who really know how to enjoy life. I will cherish my memories with my new found friends and hope that some day, some where we get the chance to make some new memories to last a life time!
I feel so fortuned to have had the opportunity to do my internship here at Fota Island Resort. I’ve given the chance to work with some of the most talented people that I’ve ever met. In the beginning of my internship our Human Resource Manager said something that really stuck with me through out my internship. She said that Fota Island Resort wants to be the place where the greatness of their staff begins. That’s was something that motivated me during my internship here. I feel like I have learned so much and I can only thank all the people who shared their knowledge and experience with me. Most important thing that I’ll be taking with me from this internship is a new found confidence in my self and to my work.
I also want to thank you all for your great feedback and positive comments. I hope you will have a sunny and warm spring! Remember to enjoy life and embrace the opportunities handed your way. You never know where you will end up or who you will end up meeting. I can honestly say that this has been the best experience of my life and applying for the internship is the best decision I’ve made.
People always say that your home is where your heart is. Well as I’m taking a part of Ireland with me as I go, I’m also leaving a piece of my heart here to Cork- My home away from home!
