Hello readers!
I got some very exciting news a while ago when I was transferred from the marketing department to work with our Wedding Co-Ordinator Susan Lavelle. On the 26th of February we hosted our annual Wedding Showcase here at Fota Island Resort Wedding Hotel Cork. It was great to see our Smith-Barry suite in all its glory. The day was a great success and I’m sure that all the brides got some great ideas for their up coming weddings! I’m really excited about my new job but after a hard weeks work it was nice to have the weekend off and enjoy the great weather outdoors.
Last weekend I visited the Rock of Cashel which is also known as St. Patrick’s Rock. I have to admit that I didn’t know much about the place before hand. I was told that the local mythology tells that Rock of Cashel was originated when St. Patrick banished Satan from a cave, resulting in the rocks landing in Cashel. Mother Nature was kind to us and we enjoyed the day in sunshine! We had a great time and this time we made it home dry!
Hope that we are as lucky in two weeks when it’s time for St. Patrick’s Day celebration. This will be my first St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland and this is one of the things I was most excited about before coming here. I’m looking forward to seeing the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and listening to some live music in Cork. There is so much going in the City and as the icing on the cake I’m finally having my family over for a visit! I can’t wait for my mini holiday with them! I’m sure we have all earned one!
The winter is finally ending and it’s really starting to feel like spring. Bright mornings and the warm sunshine keep on surprising me! Usually this time of the year it’s still freezing cold and snowy in Finland so I’m happy to be in Ireland to enjoy my favourite season early this year!
Hope you all have a great week and remember to keep up to date with all the latest blog entries, competitions, news and events at Fota Island Resort on our Facebook page and by following us on Twitter.
