It has been a busy month in Cork with the successful hosting of the Irish Open at Fota Island Golf Resort and recent re-opening of The Kingsley 4 Star Hotel in Cork. In recognition of such positive news, the Fota Collection were announced as quarterly winners at the Cork Business Awards.

The Fota Collection, which consists of Fota Island and The Kingsley Hotel, along with Jacques Restaurant were named as winners of the awards by the Cork Business Association and will be entered into the annual CBA ‘Business of the Year’ awards in their respective categories.

Jacques Restaurant was recognised in the medium/ small business category for its service to the people of Cork City over the last 30 years, while the successful return of the Irish Open golf tournament to the Cork Golf Club at Fota Island as well as the re-opening of the Kingsley Hotel in Cork were recognised as major events for the city as The Fota Collection scooped the large business award.

Speaking at the event, chairman of the Cork Business Awards committee, James O’Sullivan, stated:

“The Fota Collection not only attracted over 100,000 people to our city and county this June for the 2014 Irish Open, but they also re-opened The Kingsley this month which is another great boost for keeping Cork competitive.”
