Fota Island Golf Club in Cork has been selected as one of the Top 30 golf courses in Ireland in a recent Irish Independent article. Making it into the rankings at number 23, the championship Cork golf club was praised for the challenge it offers player while also showcasing the majestic scenery of Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour.

The resort’s reputation has further enhanced having successfully hosted the Irish Open for a third in 2014 in which  Mikko Ilonen emerged victorious. The five star resort had previously hosted the event in 2001 and 2002 which cemented the venue as one of Ireland’s championship golf courses.

The Irish Independent feature went on to describe the Fota Island Resort venue as having…

“three distinctively challenging championship golf courses set amongst beautiful parkland scenery and surrounded by tall oak trees. The courses challenge length and skill whilst subtly showcasing the beautiful scenery on display. Fota is located 9km from Cork City, and beside the Fota Wildlife Park.”
