Mercy Kids + Teens Appeal @ Fota Island Resort

Fota Island Resort is proud to be hosting an eagerly anticipated cookery demonstration in aid of the Mercy Kids + Teens Appeal. The event is being organised by the proprietors of one of the most popular restaurants in Cork, Les Gourmandises. The owners and award-winning chefs Pat Kiely and his wife Soizic, will be holding the cookery demo on Thursday, 4th February.

Those attending the event will be in for a real treat upon arrival as they will be greeted with a prosecco and canapes reception at 7 p.m., and nobody will be leaving empty-handed with complimentary goody bags to take home. Culinary delights won’t be the only item on the menu at the Cork venue with each course specially paired with complementary wine selections courtesy of local wine expert Nicolas Sicot of O’Brien’s Wines in Douglas.

In addition to the great tasting food and wine on the night, all proceeds from the raffle and a portion of ticket sales will go to The Mercy Kids + Teens Appeal which provides funds for investment in critical areas of paediatric services at The Mercy University Hospital. With a proud tradition of fine dining in Cork, Fota Island Resort is delighted to be hosting Pat and his wife Soizic for such a deserving cause.

Many children are affected by the death of a parent or sibling and require Bereavement Counselling and other support services; while, for many other children and young people with long term illnesses their education can be affected and the Mercy Hospital Foundation provides support through the hospital Social Work Department to enable many of these children to continue their education following their illness.

Michelle Murphy, Corporate and Events Fundraiser at the Mercy Hospital Foundation said:

“Our mission is to inspire people to support advancements in research, diagnosis, treatments and care of patients at The Mercy University Hospital, the People’s Hospital. We promise to do our very best to provide you with a world class hospital, right on your doorstep, and this is only possible through the help of our supporters and donors like Pat and Soizic from Les Gourmandises, and those who join them for what promises to be a great night in Fota Island Resort on February 4th.”
