There was great excitement following the recent announcement from the Football Association of Ireland that Fota Island Resort will be hosting a prestigious training camp for the Republic of Ireland men’s senior team prior to their departure to compete in the 2016 European Championships.

Fota Island Resort to host pre-Euro 2016 training campThe Republic of Ireland squad will base themselves at our 5 star hotel in Cork from where they use the extensive facilities to provide the perfect preparation for the eagerly anticipated UEFA European Championships in France during June and July.

The planned visit between the 30th May and 3rd June will see the entire management, playing squad and backroom staff based in our  iconic Cork hotel and spa between the 30th May and 3rd June in the build up to the European Championships tournament.

Established professional soccer clubs Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United, in addition to a number of Ireland’s underage international squads have already visited the state-of-the-art training facility has already hosted a number of recognisable sporting organisations over the past few years including senior and academy sides from . There have also been come FAI Coach Education courses held at the facility.

There With Manager,Martin O’Neill, and his assistant, Roy Keane, putting the likes of Robbie Keane, Jonathan Walters, John O’Shea and Shane Long through their paces along with the rest of the Irish squad; then there is sure to plenty of excitement and attention on our sister hotel.
