Fota Island Resort has once again been named in the Top 100 golf courses in Ireland by Golf Digest. The championship standard Deerpark course at this luxury Cork golf club made the prestigious list at number 30 which regularly sparks heated debates amongst golfers across Ireland and further afield.
The 2016 list features a familiar Top 10 to that of 2015 with only one change in tenth spot with Baltray GC dropping out from 10th to 12th and Rosses Point moving up from 11th to 10th.
Fota Island Resort was proud host and official sponsor to the 2014 Irish Open which saw Finland’s Mikko Ilonen emerge victorious on 13 under par. It was the first time in 12 years that the luxury golf hotel in Cork had hosted the tournament.
Golfers can choose from a selection of three championship golf courses – Deerpark, Belvelly or Barryscourt. Each of the golf courses are sure to provide avid golfers with a challenge to both their short and long games regardless of abilities.
