Spring is well and truly upon us with many enjoying Easter hotel breaks in Cork with friends and family as we look ahead to the start of summer with heightened expectancy. The Easter weekend saw the annual Racing Home for Easter Festival take place at the Mallow Racecourse which is always a firm favourite for racing punters and locals alike. The coming weeks will also see a whole host of events taking place in Cork and the surrounding areas that are sure to thrill and enthuse the whole family. The Cork World Book Festival takes place between the 22nd & 26th April based at the Cork City Library, Grand Parade and Triskel Christchurch.  The festivals is one of the city’s more popular cultural events and will be celebrating its tenth year in existence. The highlight of the weeklong festival will be the UNESCO World Book Day on 23rd April.

The Cork International Choral Festival follows shortly after between the 30th April and 4th May at various venues across the city including Cork City Hall. The festival will see Cork welcoming choirs from across the world for a series of Gala concerts, schools Concerts, National and International Competitions as well as top class performances, with all participants bringing the city to life for a celebration of choral music.
